My two weeks holidays is coming to an end, but i must say, this is the best school holidays I’ve ever had. And that’s probably because half of my holidays have been taken up by the 4 days 3 nights Winter Youth Camp at Mount Tambourine.
It was my first camp, and everything was just new to me. From the talks, and morning devotions, praise and worship. When you’re there, everything just feels awesome. Away from your normal routine and civilisation. (there was no network courage up there). It was sort of like a getaway for me, but also an experience i would never forget because I really learnt so much and feel so much more spiritually alive.
Just one negative thing, I wasn’t ready for the cold. I’m not lying but it’s freaking cold up there, not forgetting to mention the cold shower i had on the first day because the heater for the hot water was broken. BRRRR. if anyone hasn’t showered in cold shower during winter, you should try it. It’s like having ice water pouring all over you and your whole body just feels like cold hard frozen ice after that. good experience but i would never ever want to do it again.
And plus, I did not have enough sleep. I wore 4 layers to sleep, curled up in my sleeping bag, with my head covered inside, but i still felt cold, literally shivering, so I couldn’t sleep for the first and second night. Never felt so cold in my life before, it felt like it was zero degrees, but no one had thermometer so we couldn’t tell. From that, i was basically weak from sleepless night and with all the activities going on during the day, the last day for me was just rough. It’s like a tradition to stay up on the last night of camp to write messages for people, most people do it, I tried, stayed up till 4am but i went to bed when my head started spinning and that i couldn’t walk properly and felt like a zombie because i knew it was my limit.
icy cold shower + 3 sleepless nights = a sick me
Got the cold and flu, basically at my weakest right now. Mum says i have wolfing cough, it’s not cough from the throat but from the lungs and caused by virus attack, I was like erm, no, i think it’s being too cold up at mount tambourine.
Probably not the best time to be sick now since school is starting in 2 days, but oh wells =( can’t deny the fact that i enjoyed this holiday and camp was mainly the reason why this holidays was awesome =))
